Plah Kung Phao or Spicy Grilled Prawn with Spicy Dressing

   Sawasdee or Hello... in the weekend there is nothing to do when I am staying my house is cooking.
Today is Friday it is a warm weather day again. And I am waitng for the cold season is coming soon in Dubai. I will going out and finding some nice place to have a warm drinking menu. It would be nice to think about that. Hopefully everyone will think like me.

OK let back to my kitchen again and see what is menu I would like to serve you today.

If you are thinking about the spicy menu. Today I would like to serve you Thai Food menu. Main ingredient is Prawn. "Spicy Grilled Prawn with Spicy Lime Dressing" In Thai we called "Plah Kung Phao" It is a salad that cooking Thai Style.


Chili Paste or Nam Prik Phao. You can find in Carefoure.









Thai called "Plah Kung Phao"

INGREDIENTS: thanks for great recipe :SD books "Thai Spicy Salad" page no. 20. but I've adjust something.
  • 4 fresh prwans (100grams each)
  • 2 cloves large garlic, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup shallot, sliced
  • 1/3 cup lemongrass, sliced
  • 1/4 tomato, seeded and cubed
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves
  • 2-3 bunches spring onion, sliced shredded cabbage for lining mint spring for garnish
  
DRESSING:
    1 tb of roasted chili paste (nam prik phao)1 tb fish sauce
1/2 tb sugar
2 tb lime juce
4-5 red clili, sliced (this is spicy you can reduce if you don't like spicy or hot)
2 cloves large garlic, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup shallot, sliced
1/4 cup lemongrass, sliced
1/4 tomato, seeded and cubed


COOKING:

1. Clean the prawns, trim off the tentacles and split the back lengthwise without removing shell. Char-grill over high heat until they are done and meat is still juicy.

2. Arrange the grilled prawns on the dish which is shredded cabbage and top with some garlic, shallot, lemongrass, and tomato. 

3. To prepare dressing, in a bowl adding roasted chili paste, fish sauce, sugar and lemon juice then mix it together. And add garlic, shallot, lemongrass, and tomato. Blend to a smooth mixture.

4. Pure the dressing over and sprinkle with mint leaves and spring onion on the grilled prawns (item 2.). And garnish with mint spring and serve.


Serve: 2 persons

- Allows more comfortable breathing. Capsaicin, the compound in chili or feature reduces the amount of mucus that obstructs the airway.
- In patients with sinus or allergy and flu. Relieve cough.
